WatchOS 10 Unlocks Exciting Widgets for Apple Watch

The upcoming watchOS release introduces significant changes, prominently featuring a smart and customizable widget-based UI. Let’s explore how to use and customize these Apple Watch widgets.

According to Apple, watchOS 10 represents a major milestone update, aiming to provide users with a fresh approach to accessing information quickly. This update brings redesigned apps, introduces the Smart Stack – a feature displaying relevant widgets precisely when needed, and introduces delightful new watch faces.

One of the key aspects of the new widget UI is its accessibility from any watch face, ensuring that timely and contextually relevant information is automatically presented to the user. These widgets occupy half of the Apple Watch screen and come in two types: the first type utilizes the entire widget for one app, while the second type can be customized with three app complications.

Although the widgets are part of a Smart Stack that dynamically changes throughout the day, users have the option to manually “pin” specific widgets to keep them fixed.

How to Use Apple Watch Widgets in watchOS 10:

watchOS 10 is currently available in beta, but it’s essential to note that once installed on your Apple Watch, there’s no way to downgrade to watchOS 9. For more information on installing the beta, refer to our guide.

On an Apple Watch running watchOS 10, simply scroll up on the Digital Crown or swipe up on the screen (in watchOS 10, Control Center now opens with the side button).

“You have the option to elegantly glide or gracefully scroll to behold the entirety of the widgets housed within your astute Smart Stack. Alternatively, a simple tap upon the resplendent yellow widget shall grant you a brief and delightful walkthrough.

To effect changes upon a widget, gracefully exert pressure upon it, holding it in your admiration.”

To edit a widget, press and hold it.

Removing widgets is easy – tap the red “-” icon, and to add new ones, tap the “+” icon at the top.

While the widgets operate as a Smart Stack, automatically adapting to the user’s context, manual reordering and pinning are possible using the yellow pin icon, which moves widgets to the top of the list and keeps them there.
