The most recent Overwatch release from Blizzard was previously restricted to the PC version of the company’s Battle.net game launcher. With the release of Season 6: Invasion, they have tried to take advantage of these new admirers by making a Steam debut.

The free-to-play game immediately climbed the charts after its Aug. 10 launch and quickly became one of the most popular games.

After two days, the game moved up to the 13th position on Steam’s charts for most played games.

Overwatch 2 had a deluge of unfavorable reviews from critics who bombed the game with over 60,000 scathing reviews in just 48 hours, despite the game’s record-breaking initial player numbers.

Due to this, the most recent installment has ultimately become the “worst reviewed” game on Steam, as determined by Steam250’s Hall of Shame, with a shockingly low rating of 1.09.

Why has the game accrued the lowest Steam rating ever?

Since Overwatch 2 is one of Blizzard’s most well-known titles, its Steam debut release around the start of a new season makes it a popular target for irate gamers.

After two days of negative fan evaluations and observing the social media craze against Overwatch, numerous factors are to blame. One user even mentioned the “toxic community” as one of them, in addition to balancing concerns, a lack of material, bugs, and lack of substance.

The game received an exceedingly poor rating of 1.4 on Metacritic, a well-known gaming review website, proving it is not just a Steam review bomb.

The primary problem with the game is that many fans have directly compared it to Overwatch 1, saying that it is the same game. largest money grab of the twenty-first century. a user claims.

Numerous reviews have emphasized how similar the two are, with the latter being thought to only contain extremely expensive cosmetics that players could not import from the original game.

Along with the game itself, Overwatch 2 has come under fire for its marketing approach of investing “millions” in celebrity endorsements as opposed to fixing the issues.
